Night Three:
Call of the Woods - written and directed by Rose Henderson, assistant directed by Courtney Seyl
It is the night of the summer solstice. Three friends - Max, Layla and Val - are spending it up on the hill by Moira Wood. But this isn’t any old place. Legend has it the wood has a curse, haunted by stories of those who entered and never returned... But hey, those are just stories, right?
The three ultimately decide to explore Moira Wood, but quickly find themselves lost, cold and disoriented by its eerie sounds. One by one they vanish and return no longer quite themselves. The longer they struggle to escape, the more they turn on one another until ultimately, they realise their fate and succumb to the call of the woods.
Content warnings: strong language, minor blood injury, loss of autonomy, psychological distress, and sudden loud noises
Up the Fields - written and directed by Hamish Swinton
‘Up the Fields’ is a dramedy about 3 best friends who are just about to leave their hometown for university. During the summer, they have one last night of partying and end up at the field they used to always find themselves, overlooking their town. While the drunken conversation goes on and the nostalgia kicks in, how will they cope leaving the only place they’ve ever known behind?
Content warning: strong language, alcohol use, implied drug use, and references to gnome theft
The Zappman Show - written and directed by Fran Lee, assistant directed by Leah Heffernan
Susan Zappman loves TV and (kind of) hates her life. When she wins the lottery, she quits her bougie corporate job, builds a sitcom set and begins living out her childhood fantasy of being Sabrina the Teenage Witch. It’s all going fine until her sister comes over for dinner. It’s fun being delusional by yourself, not so much when someone you love judges you for it.
