the threads that bind

New Works Festival | Night 1 | Tuesday 24th February | 7pm

As a child she sent seven “witches” to their deaths. As an adult, she spun thread so fine it built the world-renowned Paisley thread industry. Now, in the final hours of her life, Christian Shaw of Bargarran reckons with a past she thought had long left her behind and fights to maintain the legacy and memory she carefully curated throughout her life.

Inspired by the events of the Paisley Witch Trials of 1697, the threads that bind is a play that explores how we remember, claim or even reshape history and how this impacts us to this day.
